After 8 weeks on the top 25 charts Jr. Pinchers second chart topping song breaks the TOP 10 by jumping three spots from number 12 to the number 9 spot. BACK BROKE, the first single off of Jr.'s upcoming 2nd album is his 2nd TOP 10 showing. RETV début the video plus a special "Behind the Scenes" segment that showed how the video was being made. Airing this past Friday to rave reviews, word from Jamaica is that "people who keep missing the video are sitting in front of their TV’s waiting for it to air again." other who don't have cable are waiting for the video to air on regular network TV.
MTV, VHI, and BET are watching what the video does on the JA. charts and will premier it in the U.S. when it hits number 1 on the JA. charts. The video has gathered over 3,000 views in the last 3 days as the video is going viral. Bloggers are taking about the mash-up of an Electronic song with a Jamaican artist sing-rapping on such a catchy beat! From London to California Déjà’s, Sound Boys, and even other labels are raving about the mash-up.
More traditional Reggae Déjà’s are not feeling the track as much as the rest of the world. But when you take a Rasta from the Reggae Genre and mix it into the Elctronica/Dance world and create a new Genre, you won’t be able to please everyone. Back Broke, will continue to climb the charts on the way to becoming the first Electronic song to top the Jamaican Dancehall charts in JA and continue to spread to other charts worldwide.
With this entire buzz about Jr. Pinchers Worldwide, what do you have to say about the song and video? Check it out, and then comment here or on Youtube about the video I am sure Jr. P is watching to see what people have to say about his new Genre.
After many weeks of revisions and tweaking Back Broke is finally done! Lead Dancer Romi who is also in a recently released video by Kanye West featuring John Legend called "Whatever you want" Romi can be seen at 1:11 seconds. In the Kanye video she is not the feature, but she should have been. Check Romi out as she is featured in the Back Broke video dancing with, around, and over Jr. Pinchers.
Jr. Pinchers a 2nd generation artist from Jamaica is son of the legendary Pinchers from the 80's. Newly signed to the Indie label Sloppishizzle Records Jr. P is working with the labels foundation producers Twinz Beatz (pictured below)
Jr. P is enjoying his 2nd chart topping single with Back Broke waiting around the corner of the top 10 on the top 25 charts for Richie B's "The Jamaica's Music Countdown", Richie B is host of the Hot Mix on Hot 102FM in Jamaica and his chart is regarded as the Jamaican Billboard before a song crosses over to the top 100 of Billboard Magazine in the States.
The video is filled with hot girls, great visuals and has the creative flare of top tier talent...but wait it does. Juan M & Jaime D from Nativo a creative power house marketing firm out of Miami with offices in Bogota Columbia is one of the driving forces behind the videos over all artistic look. We caught up with Juan and Jaime and asked them how they managed to land a music video, since they are known for their creative work with clients like Pepsi, HBO Latino, among other big name brands.
MFUSA: How did you guys meet Jr. P? Juan & Jaime: (Juan) We are the marketing arm of Sloppishizzle Records and they asked us to do a photo shoot for a new artist they were going to sign (at the time) and we had such a great vibe doing the photo shoot we told them when they are ready to shoot a video let us know.
MFUSA: Had you shot a video before? Juan & Jaime: (Juan) No, but... (Jaime) we have always prepared a "Behind the scenes" video for all of our clients and this was just a natural progression. We worked in the "big bad world" of advertising so we both had experience being on set but not as the directors and Jaime and I work so well together that we make up one person when we are together, so directing a music video was just a natural progression for us.
MFUSA: How was the process for you? Juan & Jaime: (Jaime) we brought in a very accomplished producer Orlando Zamora who was also our editor. From the start we had pre-production meetings so we could map out the overall vision from Jr. P and the Twinz and we took that vision and wrapped a production schedule around it and put a dollar amount to making the video a reality. Once we got the green light from the label we got to work securing all the equipment we needed through Orlando. Over all the process was quite smooth and on the day of the shoot as hectic as it was for the 12 hrs of shooting. It literally went off without a hitch. (Juan) It even went down to the last minute of shooting to get the final shot!
MFUSA: How did it get to the last minute what do you mean? Juan & Jaime: (Juan) We have a budget that we needed to stick to and one of those items was the space we used to shoot the video. Once we started we had a timer running backwards on us. Once that timer reaches zero then, we would have to pay for any time we use over that time and sometimes depending on the location they can charge you for every minute over your allotted time. We took the video shoot down to the last seconds and then we had to be out of the space, it was a great feeling getting 24 hrs of shooting into a 12 hr day!
MFUSA: What can we expect from this video? Juan & Jaime: (both) Girls, girls, and more girls… (Juan) No you can expect to see lots of energy, hot girls of course but not exploited, more celebrated as woman than objects. Look at the video several times we put a lot of detail into the video for you to see, creative details. I am not going to say what they are you will just have to find them and comment on them yourselves. We also wanted to make sure we represented Jamaica in the video since the artist is originally from Jamaica. We hope you like the video as much as we enjoyed making it and there is a great surprise at the end of the video for you.

Rate the song become a fan and then watch as Jr. Pinchers climbs the charts based on your actions. Watch out world the "world premier" of Back Broke is coming next Friday! Where will you be when it happens?
RETV producer and video personality Paula Gordon along with expert camera man Richard Walton captured scenes throughout the day as Nativo's chief creative team filmed the Back Broke video for SloppiShizzle Records recording artist Jr. Pinchers. Juan & Jaime, the brains and creative muscle behind the Back Broke video concept managed to pull off a 24 video shoot in only 12 hours. Video's always look glamorous in the end but the reality of it is "hurry up and wait", hair & makeup, lighting, catering, etc. all of this takes time, and more importantly it takes time away from shooting the actual scenes. With 2-hrs needed to set up each shot you can lose 4-8 hrs “shot time.”
RETV's crew were on set from the first shot and left at almost 2 in the morning. Interviewing everyone from Orlando (the producer), Juan & Jaime (the directors), Jr. Pinchers (the artist), Twinz Beatz (the music producers), to Geri (the Executive Producer).
Karim hype (Supa Sound Dj), was also on set after learning that Jr. Pinchers was in Miami shooting a video. When asked what he thought about everything he said "this video is going to be hot! The scenes I have seen since being here are on a whole other level. Jr. P is doing his thing big and everyone will scramble to match this level." Karim also found time to grant an interview to the RETV crew before leaving in the wee hours of the morning as the shoot was wrapping.
So what’s the premise of the video you ask? You will have to watch RETV to find out since the story of the video is being kept under wraps, but here is a little teaser. What do you get when you take the world of Electronic music and Dance music and mash it up with the Dancehall world? Answer: you get Back Broke by Jr. Pinchers and Twinz Beatz the smash single at number 17 on the top 25 charts according to Richie B! That’s all I am allowed to say because the editor is peering over my shoulders.
Request Back Broke on your local radio station and enjoy some of the photo’s I managed to sneak on set!
RETV's cutting edge programming will now include an "exclusive" behind the scenes access to Jr. Pinchers upcoming music video for his smash hit single "Back Broke".
Paula Gordon, joined by expert camera man Richard Walton will be on set getting exclusive access to Jr. Pinchers as he films a plethora of scenes for his new music video "Back Broke." Though we cannot give any specific details to the story line of the video, we hear there will be Cameo's by up and coming artist “Tubb City” and twin rappers “Rich & Fameus”, artist who are also currently working with Twinz Beatz (the producers) on upcoming projects, making the Twinz the “hardest working producers” in the Miami.
RETV says they will focus on getting face time with the star as he has not given any “formal” interviews since leaving RCP and he started working on his 2nd album 5 months ago. They will also get access to his studio location or maybe even a taste from his upcoming as yet "untitled” album. The buzz on the street is that Jr. P has taken a stark departure from his previous album material under the direction of Twinz Beatz. Some call his latest single "Fast music" which has only added to its popularity in the dance halls.
Jr.P has said "this is music the whole world can listen to." and he remains on the hunt to provide music that will cross over in appeal. And for those who think his past material had a softer flavor. Jr.P handles "naysayers" with the grimy street inspired "Imitators" (get your free copy from Jr. Pinchers website) a dis track that was put out as an answer to the "copy-cats" trying to copy his new sound.
Jr. P does not apologize for his brash style on "Imitators" he just wanted to make sure that all Bad boys know that a lion lays and waits before he pounces, no matter the size. The industry is in need of a change and Jr. Pinchers may just have what it takes to do it. Just listen to the taste he is giving us of his new honey. Let's hope when he pounces he does not wipe out the entire animal kingdom.
The Music video for "Back Broke" has the streets on edge waiting as it climbs the charts and RETV is the only place you can watch it. So tune into RETV as they will debut the "Making of" along with the "World Premier" of Jr. P's hit single "Back Broke."

How Jr. Pinchers is doing despite his lack of a full blown U.S. campaign? As artist like Sean Paul, and Sean Kingston kick their campaigns in over drive here in the US. Jr. Pinchers enjoys a steady accent to the top 20 in Jamaica, a key demographic if you are an artist with an Island background.
Both Sean's are on the Top40R charts (with Sean Paul at number 22 with 1,890 spins for his single "So Fine," loosing -364 spins from the previous week). Sean Kingston sits at number 17 (with 2,365 spins for "Fire Burning," also loosing -535 spins from the previous week). In comparison Jr. Pinchers consistently gets 3,000+ spins a week since the song was pre-released on Imeem. Though he lacks a major U.S. campaign for the single "Back Broke", Jr. P's new single spun 3,769 times last week (and gained another +620 spins this week). Given the number of spins Jr. P is getting without a major U.S. campaign (total number of 4,389 spins the week of 8-10 to 8-17) he would be sitting at number 7 on the TOP40R charts ahead of Jeremih's "Birthday Sex" a popular Hip hop song, behind the likes of Drake, Young Money, Black eyed Peas, Kerri Hilson, and Pit bull, the only artist on the charts above him that has a song in his same category/Genre.
According to the streets Jr. Pinchers “Back Broke” is hotter than both Sean’s combined effort (4,255 spins combined) Back Broke would still be spinning +134 spins more a week, all without a major U.S. campaign. Don’t believe me see for yourself, I have included the chart ending 8-17 as proof that getting the streets behind you is the first step to making it big, no matter where your streets may be.
This chart is presented as an example to where the artist would sit if his campaign was in the U.S. this chart does not represent the actual chart published by All Access Music Group.
With the release of his newest dis track “Imitators” Jr. P is enjoying a steady climb on to the charts and hearts of Jamaica. As a side note “Imitators” was being downloaded a blazing 1000 times per hour for a period of 14 hours over the weekend. Since being released at 12:01 am on 8-15-09, the single has been downloaded a total of 80,000 and counting. I don’t know any major artist right now moving those kinds of numbers in this environment but the single was Free, a tease of what’s to come from his new Project, his 2nd album he is currently recording.

Bob Marley is credited with bringing the world Reggae music which still reigns as the number one selling album on iTunes (Legends Remastered). Scan the Reggae top 10 singles and you will find “Three Little Birds” as number one, followed quietly by Shaggy’s “It wasn't Me”. In fact when you scan iTunes you will find more “Top 40 Adult Contemporary (AC)” Reggae, it’s what the rest of the world is snapping up. But… what happens when other artist grow cold, have no new material and need to get back on the “hot now” train? The answer; switch music genre’s so you can appeal to a wider audience and find a style that others have already done, and then hop on their train. Well if you are a young artist like Jr. Pinchers, you are the Locomotive, the lead conductor, and the train station everyone else uses to get back on top.
"Back Broke", technically is an Electronic song according to iTunes, the largest digital music retailer in the world, and does not easily fit the current radio format of dominate stations like Irie FM, known more for their smooth Reggae vibes and news based morning shows hosted by Ron Muchette. So how does an artist from Jamaica, whose fan base knows him more for soft Reggae love songs, do on radio dominated by controversial dancehall singles laced with lyrics that get them banned off of the radio as fast as they can play them? Quite well, Jr. Pinchers first single is enjoying heavy rotation on Irie FM; Zip FM and Hit FM among others and is gaining momentum/stations daily.
How does this match up to what Jamaicans are listening to on the radio in Jamaica? I took a look at some of the charts used in Jamaica to gauge the top 20 songs. If you use “Richie B’s Energy Beat chart” or “Stampede Street Charts” you will find that what is popular on iTunes does not match up to either chart. I also took some time to review the top singles on both charts and realized that in Jamaica it’s all about the Dancehall (Jamaica’s answer to Hip-hop/Rap of the U.S.). Dancehall is more bravado, more sexual, and grittier than the smooth vibes of Reggae music. Enter any dance hall in Jamaica, you will find more of the “dance” in “Dancehall” and people who will jump from the tops of speakers rising 2.5 stories high. Dancehall is that pent up frustration that needs an outlet on the weekends, so you can go back to work Monday with a clear head.
Juniors’s new style has caught the attention and hearts of the people of Jamaica, so much so that other artist took notice almost immediately. Back Broke is the first single off of Jr. Pinchers as yet untitled 2nd album is a mash-up of hip-hop, Rock, Pop, Dance, and Electronic music all rolled into one, a style that Twinz Beatz call “Slop-Hop.” Reviewing these charts you also realize that what SloppiShizzle Records artist Jr. Pinchers and Producers Twinz Beatz are doing does not fit into either genre, a clear departure from the traditional Reggae or Dancehall album. Dancehall albums in Jamaica are more a mash-up of singles from the top ten to twenty artist playing on the radio with albums released by TAD’S, Roaring Lion, JamJam, and VP Records. Scrambling to release new music, many artists have hit the boardrooms and basement studios to replicate this "new sound". The streets aren't the only ones who noticed these "copy cats". Jr. Pinchers stepped into the studio and recorded a track which can be called a "dis track", but he says he's "just keeping it real"... you be the judge.
Listen/download the new track called “Imitators,” from his SloppiShizzle Records Official Website then give your feedback directly to Jr. P via email(JrPinchers@SloppiShizzleRecords.com)then call your local radio stations and demand they call out all the "Imitators" on their stations by name… But I could be getting ahead of myself, after all “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”, but I somehow doubt that other artists are being sincere.
